Classico Jade “520,” my love

With its new limited edition of 99 pieces, the Classico Jade whispers a cloaked “I love you.” The 8, 7, and 6 hour-markers have been replaced by the numerals 5, 2, and 0. In China, a country with a strong attachment to numerical superstition, “520” means “I love you.” The reason for this is its pronunciation, very close to that of “Wo ai ni,” or “I love you.” For that matter, the date of May 20th—5/20 in China—has recently become a sort of second Saint Valentine’s Day.

The Classico Jade is a way to express a subtle message of love, with the “520” delicately revealed by a wave on the dial and enhanced by a diamond-set border. The embodiment of timeless femininity, the Classico Jade “520” is a love letter to be worn on the wrist.

Classico Jade 34 mm

In 2013, Ulysse Nardin launched Jade as a tribute to a revered gemstone that the royal court in China considered “crystallized magic”—the link between heaven and earth.

Today, the Classico Jade makes its return, with a slightly smaller size— 34 mm in place of 37 mm—that loses none of its elegance. The hour, minute, and second hands are powered by the self-winding UN-815 movement. These editions fuse techniques with precious materials, time-honoured craftsmanship and captivating allure.

Its new look will take your breath away: nine diamonds in a delicate leaf-like wave motif adorn the lower left quadrant of the round mother-of-pearl dials. 60 more sparkle on the stunning bezel in stainless steel, for a total of 69 diamonds for the gem-set versions (71 for the rose gold version).

The very feminine color options—blue leather strap and oversized blue Arabic indexes, burgundy red leather strap with burgundy numerals, dark grey leather strap with grey numerals for the rose gold version—perfectly match the mother-of-pearl’s sumptuous tones and the diamonds’ incandescent fire.
